Jude Duarte has been in exile for three months now. After taking up a new and dangerous job, Cardan begins to worry about her well being, and wants her to return to elfhame. He returns to the mortal world to try to convince Jude to come back to Elfhame.

This is a Jurdan based short story focusing on them beginning their journey as High King and Queen of Elfhame. There will be spoilers from all three of the books. Holly Black (the author of this series) owns these characters , I just wanted to continue their journey for a little longer.

So like imagine Jude is a faerie and princess of Elfhame whilst Cardan's the mortal and the General's son. I have no idea how this is going to work but...oh well. Enjoy, I guess. #4 in tcp

This is a continuation of the Scene from the Queen of Nothing (the Folk Of The Air series) Chapter 21. It was a very intimate scene but we all wanted a little more than a fade to black. This is what could've been if we were got to see Jude and Cardan during this moment. The King and Queen of Elfhame finally together, alone. After her return from the human world, her escape from Madoc's camp and her nearly dying (again); Jude is now with Cardan, in their chamber. *italicized text is directly from Holly Black's Queen of Nothing. Jude gets drunk at a revel - Cardan is delighted. Inspired by the song Tam Lin/the Glasgow Reel which is what I imagine them dancing to in this. * "My sweet nemesis," Arms closed around her waist from behind, making her sway with him, a familiar voice murmuring in her ear. "I was considering coming to your rescue, before that dull little creature bored you to death. Alas," She could hear the smirk in his voice. "I realised then that it was only fair you get to experience how I feel when you start droning on about matters of state," "Yes, do tell me how deathly dull I am," She replied, aiming for the usual sarcastic bite to her tone, but it came out embarrassingly slurred.
