This is the third book in the ELIXIR series (Book 1: ELIXIR, Book 2: LUNAR). This series uses no cannon characters except by mention and takes place in 2019. Caitlyn O'Connell has just left Hogwarts and has 10,000 galleons to put towards a research project she began during her seventh year. Overwhelmed by the expectations and possibilities of her project, Caiti feels like she's stumbling around blindly, but she's determined to make some kind of progress and prove she deserved to win the award that gave her all her funding. Marlowe Finnegan is in his second year of a reserve contract with the Chudley Cannons and has started to find his footing, but hasn't quite managed to shake off the stigma that comes with being a werewolf or fully accept this still raw and recent unexpected life trajectory himself.
