Elizabeth McKinnon divorced her husband Burt Hummel when their child, Kurt, was eight. Burt was homophobic, Kurt was gay and Burt hated that. Kurt grew up with a loving mother although he still went to McKinley and still got horribly bullied. Elizabeth works almost 24/7 just to pay rent so Kurt always had to find new ways to buy his designer clothes, but he knows he's lucky to have his mum. When Kurt is 15, almost 16, Elizabeth dies and Kurt moves in with Burt, who as soon as possible, sends him to Dalton.

This starts a week after Kurt starts high school, in my mind that's 08-15-08! The years are going to follow everything in the show, but if any songs are mentioned, they won't all be from the date of the entry, just songs I think Kurt would listen to while writing. Hope you guys enjoy!! <3
