This is a take on what could have happened in season 18 episode 14 after it cut to black with Ellie and Nick in the elevator for "The Talk." Also inspired by the song "i love you" by Billie Eilish. Ellie is conflicted over her allegiance to both Nick and Odette. She knows what she has to do to break free of what is holding her back in order to complete her mission. But things do not go to plan when Nick shocks her with a sudden disruption.

Ellie and Nick enjoy a trip to Disneyland with their two children, but the day is filled with heavy memories for them both.

I wrote this before the season 18 finale aired, so basically when I was still excited and happy when thinking about all the possibilities of *that* episode. I haven't written in ages, but I am proud of myself for sitting down and actually writing this because it was very fun. To be determined if I continue this story, but for now it works as a one-shot. I hope you enjoy it! <3 Quick Summary/Introduction: Ellie is about to leave with Odette when Nick drives up to see her one last time. He is hurt that she lied to him about her secret training; she didn't want to lie and feels guilty about it. Neither knows how the other feels or if forgiveness is possible.
