My name is y/n l/n.I died in a war exactly one hundred years ago. I took a knife to my heart instead of my companion. I made it to Elysium, and I have been living there my whole death life. It is nice here, but I do sometimes wish I wouldn't have died at such a young age. I want something that will make me feel more human, and he was the answer.

Problem is, between fending off crazy Angels and bargaining with the dead, it's going to be harder than they thought.

This short story is about Nico- after the final battle with Gaea, Nico is fatally poisoned (sorry, guys). On his deathbed, he has a few words to say. Sixteen-year-old AJ has lost more than enough, everyone has. She lives on Earth's surface with the constant fear of what's to come from the city that lurks 6,214 miles above their head. AJ, unlike a lot of others, tries not to question her existence or trying to find a reason to live and spends her time making friends and trying to figure Emaria out. She's gotten pretty good at looking at the bright side mostly. But when another one of her friends is taken by the annual allotment that takes place at each school, AJ doesn't know how to view her life anymore. How much more suffering and trauma does she have to go through to realize that she doesn't deserve this. No one did. She had a choice. They all had a choice but were too scared of what would happen to them if they tried to free themselves, being content with surviving like animals. But she knew, either way they were going to die. Begging for a change in any way possible, AJ and three of her friends make their way to the huge city, which was deemed impossible to do for anyone who lived on the surface. But as their journey continues, so do the lies and secrets of the enemy and especially the people she thought she could trust.
