Arthur figures out Merlin has magic/Merlin tells him - this story has two alternative versions of chapter one but the rest is the same. Both begin in season 5 episode 5 when Arthur has to decide whether to save Mordred by legalising magic. What follows is how the story might have played out if Merlin had revealed his magic/Arthur found out about Merlin's magic at this stage - would Mordred still have joined Morgana? Coping with the end of the show by sharing ideas of mine for this world. No smut, I'm not comfortable writing like that yet, at least not in detail.

It has been five years since Arthur banished Merlin when he found out that he has magic. When a new magical threat threatens the kingdom and there is no other option then to summon Merlin, Arthur summons with great reluctances. Qwain was saved by Merlin after he pushed Arthur into the boat to Avalon. Merlin saw Qwain and Percival and helped heal Qwain and told both of them everything about himself. To Merlin's surprise both Qwain and Percival excepted Merlin fully and with open arms. Merlin told them to stay as knights with Arthur but when needed they could find him easily. I hope you all enjoy this. This is my first Merlin fic. Elyan is still alive, as is Qwain.
