When most people first approach a digitizing firm to get their artwork converted, they come up with either a copy of their logo or a photo or screen-shot of a design they really like. While this may seem fine to the customer, it becomes quite a challenge for the service provider to come up with an exact copy of the template presented.
What’s the difference?
Now, some of you might ask - what’s the difference between creating a digitized version of say, a screen-shot or a proper graphic design? After all, an image is an image, and it’s only going to be used as a reference, so why should anyone pay much attention to it? Right? Wrong!
Dwindling down to the basics, you would first need to learn the basics of how images work. In the digital world, images or graphics are either produced in a pixel format or a vector format. The basic difference between the two formats is that – while pixel-based images use a collection of dots (or pixels) to bring together the image, vectors make use of points, lines, curves and polygons (also known as primitives) to create the visual.
