Ashima always wanted to join the school of Emei. The powerful ladies, who protected and ruled over the Southern Continent. It always fascinated her how a bunch of females can rule in such a male dominated world, for Emei was no joke but one of the Leaders of the World. She began fantasizing about wearing their uniforms, learning their mystic arts and of course fighting the bad guys. So when she became seventeen, without even taking a second pause she chose to be an Emie. She never in her wildest dreams imagined the change of events that would await her as she would step into her new role. For Ashima was different from them all.

Nearly every culture on Earth harbors a secret underworld of fighters who adhere to ancient codes of honor and practice impossible martial arts. From the jianghu of the kung fu masters of China, to el bosque lucha of the luchador heroes of Mexico, the fencing schools of old world Europe, the martial arts underground of the United States prison system, the hidden subculture of the last Japanese samurai and beyond. In the modern era a mysterious patron seeks to unify these fighting worlds into a single "World Wulin", and warriors from across the planet find themselves drawn into a web of intrigue that runs far deeper than settling the question of who is the strongest fighter in this generation.
