A calamity befell the humans when Faulesce, the Hious of Death and Chaos, took hold of the Emissary's mind, taking the Core for himself. Other Hious intervened, but now friends have gone missing, and Faulesce has left half-breed offspring in his wake. Children who are fated with the same evil and chaotic future as their father. The future is uncertain, and the Core is about to make an unlikely choice for the next heir to the title of Emissary.
