(Inspired by Fitterkarma's Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo) The air was thick with the scent of rain-soaked concrete and something sharp-like iron, like hunger. We moved through the crowd as strangers, two bodies carved from the same hollow stone, each carrying a hunger that gnawed at our ribs from the inside out. Love is cannibalism, I'd heard it whispered in alleyways and screamed in broken songs, but I never knew what it meant until our eyes met. In that split second, the world fell silent. Your gaze was not soft or warm-it was a jaw unhinging, a set of teeth glinting in the half-light, ready to tear into whatever it could claim. Mine was no different: a throat opening wide, desperate to swallow, to take, to make you part of me so I'd stop feeling like I was slowly eating myself alive. We were two predators who'd finally found their match, two starving things recognizing that the only way to fill the void was to let each other feast. The space between us shrank like flesh under heat. When our hands touched, it was not a gentle meeting but a collision-nails digging into skin, fingers wrapping around bones as if to hold them in place before the bite. Every breath we shared was a trade: I gave you a piece of my lungs, you fed me a shred of your heart. Love, we learned in that moment, isn't about nurturing-it's about consumption, about two beings devouring each other so completely that what's left is something new, something forged from the bones we didn't eat and the blood we chose to share. We didn't fall into it. We lunged. And as our lips met, I tasted the truth of it: pag-ibig ay kanibalismo-love is cannibalism, and we were born to be each other's meal.
