As they stood there, the world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment. Emmett's eyes locked onto Khione's, his gaze burning with intensity. "But I don't care about any of that right now. All I care about is you, Khione. Being with you, holding you...it's the only thing that feels right." How could he such a thing so easily? How could he say all of that so easily? Why does it sound like he means every word? If he kept going, Khione's not sure if he'd be able to control himself. Khione's face inches closer to Emmett's, their lips almost touching. He couldn't think straight even if he wanted to. He simply disliked having expectations, particularly if they could lead to disappointment. He intended to give his all to finish his final years in high school and then leave. Perhaps residing in a remote location sounds appealing. As soon as he locked eyes with mischievous and intense golden, you could argue that his brain chemistry was immediately changed.
