It's October 1845, in the midst of the Great Potato Famine. Claire's father is dead, her brother is in America and her mother is dangerously ill, with the business she owns, The Irish Emporium, threatened as well. With no money, no food, and no medicine, it looks like Claire's family has no hope either.
