Aella Melgren daughter of the famous and ruthless General Melgren is entering her third year at Basgiath War College. Aella hates what her father did to the rebellion and forcing the marked ones into the War College. Through the last 2 years she has been earning the trust of the marked ones and now helps run the secret rebellion. Aella Melgreen and her boyfriend Garrick Tavis, her best friend/brother figure Xaden Riorson, and Bodih Durran are inseparable because of years of hardships, trust, and loyalty to each other. When Aella learns that Violet Sorrengail her old childhood best friend is joining the riders quadrant she now has to protect Violet and help her survive the deadly war college.
