The Space Between Us Some distances aren't measured in miles - they're measured in betrayal, silence and the lies we thought were love. Daniela Carter-Vargas has lived always under someone else's shadow, shaped by her mother's past, her father's silence and a childhood of broken promises. When she finally escapes, though, she isn't just running from home, but also from the ache that taught her that love always has a price. At her new school, she's invisible - until Silvan Graves, the last person she expects, begins pulling her into the light with shameless flirting, relentless teasing, and a kindness she doesn't quite trust. Their relationship is unlikely, visceral and slightly terrifying. But just as Daniela is starting to breathe again, old wounds reopen. Elin, the cruel queen, is unprepared to let her have peace, and Colby - the first person who ever made her feel wanted - comes back with a betrayal so sharp it could unravel her all over again." In a world where loyalty is a fragile band to hold, and people leave, the question is whether Daniela has the courage to stay for herself, and for the boy who never stopped choosing her.

"...I love you, Ester! With everything in my soul, I love you and I won't stop until the last breath leaves my lungs." Jace said with tears glazing his eyes and his hands outstretched reaching for her. His heart filled with an ache only she could ease, a wound only she could heal. "You don't understand, Jace! How can I love you when I don't even love myself!" Ester sobbed as she shakinly took a hesistant step back, her hands tightly clenching the spot above her heart as though she physically felt the pain her emtions created, but she was in pain, everything she felt was raw and real. Ester was a common broken girl, hurt had fill her heart and took resisdence in her life. She felt as if she didnt deserve love, as if she was too damaged. Jace Heart, a boy with golden brown hair and ocean-like eyes, had proved sweet, broken Ester wrong. Jace showed her that everyone deserves love, no matter how damaged they think they are. We're all broken people in some way or another, hiding our hurt from the world thinking that we're alone in this destructive battle we call life. Seven billion people in the world thinking that they're alone, when really that's far from the truth.
