He murdered her mother and locked Jiang Yan in the basement of their villa to take her large inheritance. He even ruined one of her hands. When natural disasters started happening and the apocalypse was coming, his family hid in the villa and later planned to use Jiang Yan for their own survival. But Jiang Yan was given a second chance. She woke up three months before the apocalypse began. This time, she unlocked a special portable Space that could store unlimited supplies. After taking revenge on her stepfather, she used her money to prepare. She bought yachts, helicopters, RVs, weapons, boats, food, clothes, and daily necessities. She learned how to shoot, fly planes, drive boats, fight, farm, and even operate heavy machines. She wanted to be ready for anything. In July, two powerful typhoons caused massive flooding starting from Japan, marking the start of the apocalypse. After that came extreme heat, heavy rain, earthquakes, pests, freezing weather, nuclear pollution, and mutated animals and plants. While others struggled and fought over small amounts of food and water, Jiang Yan stayed safe in her secure home. She grew vegetables, raised fish, and lived comfortably, fully prepared for the ruined world outside.

That cannon fodder is making him frustrated. Xiao Hanzi in the book was very unfortunate, having a blood-sucking and cheating lover. He's so stupid and this loyal dog was loyal to the wrong target, who just used him and made him a substitute for his White Moonlight because they have similar traits. Unfortunately, in the end Xiao Hanzi in the book was betrayed and Died miserably. Xioa Hanzi snapped, coughed a mouthful of blood "for real" and then died just like that. But don't worry, our Xiao Hanzi didn't die totally, he got Transmigrated to the book and became that cannon fodder who shares the same name as him. What!? I transmigrated and become that cannon fodder in the book!? No way, author, I refuse!! But in the end, our Xiao Hanzi has no choice but to go along with it. Huh! Go along with it!? Yeah right (evil smile) Then let's follow our comrade Xiao Hanzi on his journey; fighting zombies, collecting supplies, scheming the Scum Main Characters and getting a dumpling (cough "lover") along the way and reaching the pinnacle of life. A Certain Dumpling: "....yeah right" This is an original novel I created for fun but with heart and dedication. What began as a passion project is now a story I'm excited to share. I hope you enjoy every moment!

Humanity didn't end because of fate. It ended because of us. Our greed. Our lies. Our hunger to control what should have never existed. When a deadly airborne virus escaped from a disease facility in Washington D.C., the dead didn't stay dead. They became Walkers-creatures driven by blood, flesh, and endless hunger. Now, nineteen-year-old Tera Vale is one of the few survivors raised behind the safety of towering walls, trained since childhood to fight the monsters outside. But when an elite scouting team vanishes and deadly trials begin, Tera is ranked number one and sent beyond the walls on a mission that uncovers horrifying secrets: The missing scouts are still alive. The safe zone has been built on lies. And Zola herself may be the key to everything. Marked by the outbreak since she was six years old, Zola must uncover the truth behind the virus, survive terrifying containment horrors, and face the man who turned children into experiments. Because the real monsters might not be the Walkers. And the end of humanity... may only be the beginning.

*Note: This is based off an old and discontinued story that had its outline scrapped and reworked to fit the prompts for the ONC. Essentially, a new book for this competition. Only the core concept, title and the protagonist's name are kept the same.* ----- A ribbon, a hair-clip, a pen, a notebook and a radio, held in the arms of a sixteen year old girl... ... It's been four hundred of years since The Rot ravaged the world and sent people downward with its decaying touch, four hundred years since humanity has inhaled even a breath of fresh air and twenty years since the first fifth-generation child was born in the shelters deep underground. And now, beneath the poisoned earth at the edge of the world, only six of them remain living in the last surviving shelter, the last surviving Lifelight illuminating a darkened board. For the rest were claimed by The Rot. Protected at all costs, older generations shields the worst of the consequences, the worst of the panic, but truth cannot be hidden forever. With increasing tensions and increasing crime, it becomes clear that there are only two outcomes: to die in strife or to die in silence. That is, until an inexplicable hope presents itself in the form of a radio transmission originating from the single most uninhabitable place on Earth, the surface. But it's too late, too late for most, other than the most protected, the youngest, the fifth generation. The waiting game is over and now it's a race against time. Before The Rot reaches them, before they run out of supplies, the handful of survivors must reach out and find the source of the transmission. From this, there are only two possible results: death or a secured future. *Cover done by the amazing @toruinagod*

Because of what she revealed... because of the trust she earned and the lies she told... the Saviors found them. And when the lineup happened, Juniper was there to witness the consequences of every choice she made. Now she has to live with the truth that she didn't just watch it happen- she helped make it happen. And no matter where she goes next, the damage remains. Not just in the memories she carries. Milo Wang was like anyone else. He was simply trying to get by, clinging to the fragile thread of survival on this planet we call Earth. The idea of escaping-of leaping onto one of the starships-felt like a hopeless undertaking. Yet Milo was not the kind of man who turned away from his own longing. He held on to hope with the tenacity of someone who had nothing else, and he kept trying, again and again, as if persistence alone might bend the universe in his favour. Somewhere else, a young woman lay dead. No one knew what had happened. One day, she was simply there, lifeless. The police were barely a presence anymore, just a faint echo of what they once were, so no one bothered to investigate. They cleared her from the street quietly, almost indifferently. They took her belongings and lowered her body into an unmarked grave, the earth swallowing her without ceremony. Milo did not know it yet, but her death would become his passage, the key to leave Earth behind. It would also mark the beginning of his end.

Terminating Dessies is always risky business, so when an external excursion goes awry, Pardus Caterva shrug it off and dig their heels in; all the while wholly unaware that their misguided actions have snagged a thread on the web of corruption woven just beneath the surface of their world. Juniper Wolff's suspicions are first raised when the mad rantings of a target reference her murdered mother, and it's not long after that her worries are mirrored by the rest of Pardus following a frightening episode in the medic wing of Fyddin Seminary. With their very beliefs brought to the chopping block, Pardus Caterva struggle to come to terms with the cards they have been dealt, but the lessons of a lifetime ensure they're in agreement on one thing: that no matter what happens next, they'll do the right thing. For the people. Juniper has never been a fan of cliches, yet she finds herself impossibly less so when it's her own fingers burnt from playing with the fire. All because doing the right thing sometimes just isn't enough. Note: contains depictions of violence, "monsters" and muted language. All Rights Reserved. A Grace | Abbey Grace.

As Earth burns and the heavens fill with refugees, one truth becomes unavoidable: the future belongs only to those willing to sacrifice everything.
