MaryJaneElephant
A girl named Sincere loves getting high to escape her issues. More specifically her home life. Her mom is dark skin just like Sincere well her mom use to be dark skin. Her mother had started using skin bleach when Sincere just entered her teenage years.
Her father was off cheating on her mom and only came home very once in awhile. When he was home everyone would pretend to be a perfect family. This was when Sincere got high the most.
One day Sincere takes a walk around the neighborhood and meets Honor a dark skin muscular guy who also uses Mary Jane as an escape.
His home life is pretty great he has two loving mom's who love him and his soon to be born sister to death.
Honor has gotten bullied in school for having two mother's. His two mother's are black and of Nigerian and Haitian descent. He doesn't see any of his grandparents because they disowned his parents and him. The black community doesn't accept them and this leaves Honor confused.
Why can't two black people be gay and happy without having some comment thrown at them.
Honor protects his mother's at all costs like he'll do to his sister and Sincere😏
Honor wants to be a spokesperson for black issues when he grows up. Coming from the hood and suburbs. Him seeing racism towards some of the dark skin girls he went to school with made him want to change the way people see dark skin girls.
This is a story about self love, learning to love your skin, learning how to love but most importantly learning that your ARE NOT YOUR PARENTS AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO FOLLOW IN THERE STEPS!
BLACK ISSUES WILL BE TALKED ABOUT IN THIS BOOK. ESPECIALLY SKIN BLEACHING.
