He endangers her life by annulling her betrothal to Prince Kota and instead promises her to Prince Sorren, the new heir of Salceria. She is not in the dark for long before her Uncle lays out the plan that he had made since before her birth. She was going to be a queen of legend, but never a king's wife. If she wanted her throne, she would have to destroy Salceria from the inside, and then trade the ruins for her Uncle's crown. She gladly agrees to his deal, realizing that she will have to marry her enemy to save the boy she loves. Serafina is then thrown into a world of intrigue, lies, and decadence as she plays a game that could get her killed. She slowly builds a inner circle to help her overthrow the King of Salceria, never telling them that she would be the one to betray them in the end. She only has one problem; Prince Sorren. Although it didn't matter. What's the big deal with marrying your enemy, if it's only til death do us part.

Aleah has been told all her life that she is worthless and weak by her older sister, Amora. As the days until Coronation when the king chooses which of his children will become the true heir dwindle, a murderer infiltrates the castle and slowly picks off all of Aleah's siblings one by one. Not only does Aleah have to deal with her betrothal to Darian, but she has to find out how to control her powers and who is the man behind the murders and fast before it is too late.
