The war was raging, mechs were dying, and Ratchet was simply standing by watching it happen (or so he thought). That was when he finally found the answer to all of his problems. And when the supposed solution to every problem he had ever faced simply dropped into his servos, who could blame him for taking the initiative?

"Does this look familiar to you?" When I spoke, I could hardly recognize my own voice. It was soft, and dripping with anguish. Not from physical pain, but from everything that had happened leading up to this moment. My attacker's optics widened, his grip on the gun becoming unsteady. I was becoming painfully aware of the weapon pressing into my stomach, the barrel just tilted enough so a blast would go straight through my spark. One flick of the trigger, and we both knew what would become of me. But I decided to voice the question anyway. What else did I have to lose? "Are you going to kill me?"
