The situation becomes even more complicated when Abbot Hildiuald, who is involved in the conflict, makes his sudden appearance in the halls. Written in an "archaic" style, the meanings of Old English words are put in brackets.

Lady Penelope Devereux comes from a distinguished family from England that dates as far back King Henry II of England from Sir William Devereux and she is the daughter of Sir John Devereux who served Under Lord Richard, Duke of York and the son of grandson of Prince Edmund, Duke of York fourth son of King Edward III . and the great-great-great-grandson of Prince Lionel of Clarence.
