This is the essay I wrote for my 2021 English Literature Prose NEA. I decided to read a variety of novels to find which one I would like best in order to write an essay I could be proud of. Some of these books included 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte, '1984' by George Orwell. In the end, I chose 'Pamela; Or Virtue Rewarded' by Samuel Richardson for my NEA. This was because not only did I find it fascinating to read based on how the main female protagonist was portrayed by a male writer in a patriarchal society where women were under the control/ power of men, but also because I wanted to write about an epistolary old novel. I enjoyed the structure of the text and thought it would be a great piece of literature to focus on the theme of feminism. I have uploaded it here just because I enjoyed reading Pamela, writing this essay, and it was a huge turning point that helped me advance/ improve my literature A-level work :)

I'm Lyra. Queen, I mean Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon invaded my life. As well as classic rock and theatrical rock, they are in my blood. So far, it seems like nothing happens, right? But wait, Roger comes. Nah, not that drummer of Queen. Yes, accidentally his name is the same as the drummer or Queen. Roger Marley. None of my type. At. All. Beast, even. But we are in the same world of music. The world with a small number of population, small place, but neverland. That is all until I know falling for him is going to be the most beautiful, taunting, wrong turn.

Nothing lasts forever. Even we, humans, turn to ashes of hope or buried with grief. I'm alive only to figure out what love tastes like or to see if life really is worth the battles. Here's how everything started to make sense. I do believe in eternity, yet nothing lasts forever, so I call it ephemeral.

Great Expectations is the thirteenth novel by Charles Dickens and his penultimate completed novel it is a Bildungsroman that depicts the personal growth and personal development of an orphan nicknamed Pip. (Philip Pirrip) It is Dickens's second novel, after David Copperfield, to be fully narrated in the first person. Here you will find key ideas about the plot, characters etc... Furthermore, some timed writes that I have done myself personally in my lessons and some annotations of some extracts with some key moments from the novel itself I hope this helps and enjoy! (I am having to put this novel as fiction but please bare in mind this is a Bildungsroman novel)
