This is the essay I wrote for my 2021 English Literature Prose NEA. I decided to read a variety of novels to find which one I would like best in order to write an essay I could be proud of. Some of these books included 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte, '1984' by George Orwell. In the end, I chose 'Pamela; Or Virtue Rewarded' by Samuel Richardson for my NEA. This was because not only did I find it fascinating to read based on how the main female protagonist was portrayed by a male writer in a patriarchal society where women were under the control/ power of men, but also because I wanted to write about an epistolary old novel. I enjoyed the structure of the text and thought it would be a great piece of literature to focus on the theme of feminism. I have uploaded it here just because I enjoyed reading Pamela, writing this essay, and it was a huge turning point that helped me advance/ improve my literature A-level work :)

I'm Lyra. Queen, I mean Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon invaded my life. As well as classic rock and theatrical rock, they are in my blood. So far, it seems like nothing happens, right? But wait, Roger comes. Nah, not that drummer of Queen. Yes, accidentally his name is the same as the drummer or Queen. Roger Marley. None of my type. At. All. Beast, even. But we are in the same world of music. The world with a small number of population, small place, but neverland. That is all until I know falling for him is going to be the most beautiful, taunting, wrong turn.

Love sometimes begins with a sentence. But their story began long before a single word was ever spoken... Eren Kara-28 years old, intelligent, profound, and passionate, a literature professor whose life had always been in harmony with words. But there were some feelings no book could ever describe. And Lara Ravenshade-19, just starting university, introverted, yet speaking volumes with her eyes. When she walked into the classroom with her waist-length red hair, she had no idea where her heart was about to lead her. Time didn't stop at first glance. The world didn't change. But something cracked in the walls inside Eren. Everything in the classroom was ordinary... Except Lara was there. And her silence began to echo in the quiet corners of Eren's heart-the parts that hadn't spoken in years. This is not just the story of a love. It is the story of how a forbidden feeling slowly took root, without permission. The story of two lonely souls, who-without a single touch-learned to hold onto one another in a world that watched too closely. Passion doesn't always scream. Desire doesn't always rush. Some loves grow only in the deepest quiet... And sometimes, a single look... Can rewrite the fate of an entire life...

Books on Wattpad (both English and German) I personally think are really worth reading. This is basically a place where I recommend other books. Wattpad- Bücher (auf Englisch UND Deutsch), bei denen ich persönlich finde, dass es sich richtig lohnt, sie zu lesen. Das hier ist praktisch ein Ort wo ich andere Bücher empfehle.

There once was a girl who loved a man. There once was a man who loved a girl. Both continued to admire each other, Despite the troubles that would be caused if the two were finally together. The girl continued to fall for the man. The man continued to fall for the girl. Such is a cautionary tale, In which the two are met with the forbidden fruit. If it were to be consumed, The two will be souls intertwined forever, With their hearts finally in the right place. The girl bit the forbidden fruit. The man did the same. Love is never easy, Yet their story is all in the same. {Basically a teacherxstudent Matty Healy fanfic, it's all a metaphor up there} [completed] ©𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗮𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟱

Anyone else trying to wade through English Literature books?? Join the club! Although I love English Literature one does have to keep the passion alive and therefore during my exams I got a couple of ways of making it fun and decided to share with you what I came up with. Sharing is caring right? These are normally in the form of interesting/sarcastic/comedic (in my opinion) chapter/poem summaries. These will either: a) brighten your day b) make you more confused or, c) actually help you to remember something (probably a rarity) All that's left to say is; Read on and enjoy! (Book 2 of Discombobulated Guides)
