Maurice a toujours eu une vie simple. Entre ses études, ses amis et sa passion pour les pâtisseries, rien ne semblait pouvoir bouleverser son quotidien. Alors, lorsqu'une nouvelle pâtisserie ouvre ses portes en ville, tenue par le célèbre pâtissier Kouki, il est l'un des premiers clients à s'y rendre. Mais leur première rencontre est un désastre. Froid, distant et presque impoli, Kouki l'ignore complètement avant de le renvoyer avec son gâteau sans même un sourire. Vexé, Maurice se jure de ne jamais remettre les pieds dans cette boutique. Du moins... jusqu'au jour où son université accueille un invité d'honneur inattendu. Face à lui se tient Kouki. Le pâtissier le plus célèbre du pays.
