15 year old Alana lived a pretty normal life. She had a nice family, good friends, went to Walderbed High School, and always finished her homework. One day, Alana found her bus seat occupied by newcomer Alexa. They naturally become friends. A few days later, Alana wakes up with a mysterious black bump on her wrist. People around her disappear as Alexa becomes more and more secretive. But why?

Eight children separated by vast distances all undergo the same ritual, watched by cloaked strangers.
