it started with 'tum bari ho.' and somehow that became everything i was supposed to be i learned how to stay quiet before i learned how to ask how to adjust before i knew what i wanted how to be strong without ever being held this isn't a story about rebellion or breaking away it's about the daughters who stayed who gave who became everything for everyone and still wondered was i ever really enough

Some things are too quiet to be heard but too loud to be unnoticed. This is a collection of unasked questions, unfinished thoughts and some tangled feelings. I hope you understand- but I hope you don't have to.

Kimberly has been in an abusive relationship for years. She finally has the courage to cut ties with her boyfriend for good. When she ends the relationship, her ex-boyfriend turns violent and almost kills her. She wakes up in the hospital with her family. Traumatized, she has to learn what it's like to have a normal life. She gets feelings for her childhood friend, Dylan. She is confused by these feelings and wonders if he might possibly feel the same way, but at the same time, she questions if she could ever love again.

Wrote this (on 5/4/14) after my aunt was lead out of her home in fear of losing her son for the purpose of money. It made things all too real-- that they are living in fear in Mexico on a daily basis. It hit too close, to home. All the bloodshed for the love of money that actually steals away the authenticity of Mexico's true Essence. I was trying to find sleep when the words rolled out all at once.
