Her parents- Mortified by this- forced Sally into a quick engagement. Shortly after Persephone was born, Queen Sally was married. Percy was mostly considered a commodity and a burden to her first step father- the former king of York. Because of this, (and against Sally's will) she was promised to a man that she considered ugly and old- and probably unkind. When tragedy strikes and the king dies, the queen, Sally quickly marries a new man, (this time unrestricted by her parents, now dead) this man proving to be much more kind and benevolent, helped her save the kingdom from the ruin the former king had almost caused. The only issue? Despite both the king and queen wishing to dissolve Percy's unfortunate Engagement, it was set in stone, written in contract. Un reversible.
