I don't hate George Lucas or the Star Wars prequels. I never have. Even when I first realized that these movies weren't as good as the originals back in high school. But it sure didn't stop others like myself to make some changes to make more sense from a cinematic standpoint. If this version does sound like the one we got, it's because I used it as a base. I also wrote this about a couple of years ago, but I decided to finally share it with the public.

This is an 'alternative' version of the prequels. It contains characters and situations from the prequels, but there is no Jedi Order affiliated with the Republic. Jedi are more like wandering nomads, Lone Rangers, and often considered more myth than true legend. I believe my telling fits better with the original trilogy. It violates all prequel canon. When a young Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi, rescues a group of Ponchee slaves being delivered to the Hutts on Tatooine, he hides them on a moisture farm owned by the Lars family. There, he discovers the boyfriend of young Tairsa Lars. His name is Anakin Skywalker. ​ Unknown to Obi-Wan, Darth Sidious has dispatched his apprentice, Darth Maul, to investigate the presence of a powerful Jedi that he has sensed on Tatooine. Darth Maul attacks the Lars farm and chases the Ponchee slaves, the Lars and Skywalker families, and the Jedi across the galaxy to the planet Alderaan. In fleeing the planet, Anakin manages to steal the Sith's advanced fighter. ​ Both Anakin and a Ponchee girl named Challeechee show remarkable affinity with the Force, and Obi-Wan decides to train them both. Maul and Sidious redouble their efforts and begin what will come to be known as The Battle of Alderaan.

On the swamp planet of Nal Hutta, Darth Maul encounters a recently escaped Twi'lek, Nima. Even though she possesses no more connection to the Force than an average person and have almost no confidence in the decisions she makes, Nima begins training with a staff not dissimilar to Maul's own preferred weapon. Nima swears to both herself and Maul that she will become confident in herself, regardless of how long it takes. Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars.
