Mark is woken up to a phone call on the night that the world changed. Every year, on the 7th full moon, all unmated werewolves over the age of 17 go out into the forest to find their mate. This has always been unavoidable, and every wolf continued partaking in this ritual until they were mated. On the actual night of the ceremony, all of the unmated female wolves would head out into the forest at sunset, and the males would enter at moonrise. The male would then have until moonset to find his soul mate, and would retreat if she wasn’t found. On the other hand, the females would just sit and wait for a male to find them, and if by sunrise they were still unfound, they would retreat. Eleanore North was a reject in society. After missing the deadline by a single day for the previous mating ceremony, she becomes the oldest unmated she-wolf in her small town. To make matters worse, as each days goes by, her life seems to become more and more tragic, including the most recent death of her younger brother, her last remaining family member. She’s decided that if she doesn’t find her mate at the next ceremony, that she will end her life. When Ryan stumbles across Eleanore, he finds that she wasn’t the mate he was expecting at all. Now, not only does Ryan have to fight to get Eleanore to love him, but he also must get her to value her own life.
