College student Camilla Drake is in love with the sun, the surf, and her childhood sweetheart. They have known each other forever and even decided to attend the same college last year. After the sudden separation of her parents over Christmas break she takes a job in South America to distance herself from the memories as she learns to cope. Working for a family's orphan ministry may give her the purpose and direction she's been missing since her world got turned upside-down. The jungle can make one do crazy things, but will it be enough to mend her heart and restore her to the vibrant girl she used to be?

Gail Taylors was born in the midst of an ice age.  Almost the entire world is blanketed with ice, the only warm places left on earth being along the equator.  Gail has never felt sunshine, has never seen a tree, and has never been able to go outside without putting a coat on.  So, desperate, Gail puts her name on The List, a slip of paper sent out by the royal family to escape her small, frozen-over town.  Signing The List ensures that Gail will get out of the cold, but she has signed her soul to the royal family; she has no control left of what happens to her, good or bad.  With The List, there are no take-backs.

If we were to design the perfect space mission able to take us from one side to another even our great great great grandchildren would not live to see the end of just our solar system. The universe is vast, ever expanding, and as far as we know infinite. Yet here we are, living beings who live and love. It is no wonder we put ourselves at the center of the universe, as the finish line of universal evolution. But there's so much knowledge to earn, so much nature undiscovered.
