Will and Evalyn are kidnapped to Skandia, where they are separated and sold as slaves. However, this story is a bit different. Erak is already an Oberjarl and has recently established new laws to improve the lives of slaves. Despite this, the village Will ends up in doesn't seem to follow those laws. Will he survive until help arrives? Will help arrive at all? In the kingdom of Araluen, things are also not quite the same as we know them. Based on the 3rd and 4th books by John Flanagan, this is a completely reimagined story. Because why not? I don't own any rights to John Flanagan's novels, nor do I make any profit from them. I simply give free rein to my imagination and write whatever comes to mind, inspired by his works. You'll meet familiar characters from the books here, as well as some I've invented. The same goes for places. As mentioned, the action is set during the events of books 3 and 4 - but with a completely different twist. Enjoy reading. I hope you'll like it :-)

Lilliana, or Lily, grew up as a ward in Redmont Castle after she decided to run away from her parents, to running away from abusive village people. The only other person who she understands and has things in common with is Will, a boy who has lived in the ward his whole life. The two train under Halt and feelings soon feelings arise between them. But here's the catch, not everything is like a fairy tale. Problems and decisions from the past come back to haunt Lily, especially ones from the place where she was born, Skandia. Will and Lily face off enemy's and grow to love being a ranger (in correct terms, Will learns). Halt O'Carrick has a daughter in Whitby Fief. Sierra O'Carrick is chosen as the first female Ranger, to be trained by Gilan, Halt's former apprentice. Now one their way to the Gathering Ground, they run into Halt and Will. The two young apprentices become fast friends, and Sierra takes the lead in hunting down the Kalkara.

Book 1 Brotherband chronicles fanfic In Skandia, there is only one way to become a warrior. Boys are chosen for teams called brotherbands and must endure three months of gruelling training in seamanship, weapons and battle tactics. It's brotherband against brotherband, fighting it out in a series of challenges. Only one brotherband can win. In the mix is a young girl who fights the traditional views of her people to become a warrior and valued member of her teenage society. I don't own anything but my own OCs and some dialogue.
