Narrative causality is a powerful thing. When the position of hero is abruptly vacated, it leaves a hole... And it's only a matter of time before someone finds themselves pulled into it. Izuku Midoriya vanished during the attack on USJ, presumed dead. Months later, U.A. resumes its in-person classes. And Class 1-A has a new transfer student. Katie Lancaster is an American transfer student, whose freckled face & wide-eyed eagerness is a painful reminder to her new classmates of what they've lost... But that's just about where the similarities end. She's a fountainhead of good-natured chaos, just as eager to get into scraps as she is to make new friends. And she's burdened with a terrifyingly powerful Quirk that she's far from even beginning to understand, let alone control. She pulses with a strange energy... An energy that's literally alien. It seems to contain the light and fiery plasma of the stars themselves, complete with their effects on gravity, space, & even time. Her own body can't even withstand it fully- gone unchecked, it tears her apart from the inside out. But that's nothing compared to the destruction it inflicts on the world around her. Society fears unnatural power just as much, if not more, than it looks down upon the powerless- she's already learned that firsthand. Now, whether she wants to or not, she finds herself in the role of 'hero'- the literary sense. But is Izuku Midoriya truly dead? Or was he just swallowed by the darkness, trapped within its inescapable grasp?
