After facing off most titans and almost dying, Eren and Armin retreat away to recover. Eren hates himself for falling down from the fight and wants to fight back in the battle. Suddenly, Eren starts getting dreams. Dreams of a girl he fell in love with back then. Meanwhile, Annie is getting dreams of a boy she fell in love with a while back as well. The dreams begin to turn into messages. Strange notes appearing on each other's arms, flickers of shadows from the ones they used to know. But all of these strange connections have one thing in common.
