El mandúvien muestra un mundo fantástico, en el que se desarrollan los hechos más importantes, en la lucha del bien contra el mal. Pero de entre todos, son los elfos de Patagok quienes toman los papeles más importantes.

Freshman year was a whole new experience for Houtarou, and considering how his previously gray-colored life slowly bled into rose that year, he thought that things couldn't really get any worse than that. He was wrong. Sophomore year brought about much newer and unfamiliar experiences for the green-eyed male, and it came in the form of the unsuspecting new member that the Classics Club had miraculously attained. Whether or not the girl was a blessing to their club was still questionable for Houtarou, but Mayaka and Eru seemed to have taken a liking to the new member and Satoshi was too amused by the situation to even consider indulging Houtarou's reluctance, so in short, he was alone in this. Dealing with this alone was a hassle. So he let it be.

En un mundo donde los humanos habitan la tierra con criaturas que pertenecen a otras dimensiones, esta ha quedado divida en trece civitas para poder establecer la paz después de una guerra que incluso destruyo un continente entero, y para que el hombre pudiese enfrentar la amenaza a seres que podían ser más fuertes que ellos, se creo un centro de investigación que encontró la manera de crear súper humanos, en la actualidad, ese centro de investigación es ahora la academia Hic Ultra que entrena personas normales para convertirlos en súper humanos, y así, ellos pudieran ser los guardianes de la tierra. Eru no es un súper humano, ni una criatura de otra dimensión, pero tampoco es un humano normal; después de la muerte de su padre y su hermana, Eru debe proteger a su hermana menor y huir, fingiendo ser un humano más en medio de un lugar donde robos, asesinatos y criaturas poderosas atacan sin piedad, pero todo cambiará cuando deba integrarse a Hic Ultra, donde descubre muchas verdades, que no sólo amenazaran la vida de quien más quiere, sino la existencia misma de esa Paz que la academia ha intentado proteger.
