About 200 years ago it was different. They were kinder back then. They let us dress in actual clothes and let us roam free within the walls of the facility and play games and have actual fun. The only time I can think of them taking research is making sure we ate and what we liked to eat and general medical information to make sure we were healthy. I used to be so much healthier. My wings had more muscle and so did I. But with how little they give us now and the fact they run experiments my muscle mass diminished severely. Oh to go back to when it was a nonprofit to house and help rehabilitate "marcers" but back then we weren't "marcers". We were just us. They called me a different name. I can't remember it now. But it was so lovely and it was always kind. Now I wear a uniform and am confined to what can only be called a cell except for when I'm fighting or training. I wish I knew where I came from. If there's more like me. But I'll never know that now.

So pretty much in a juvenile centre, a young teenaged boy named Jake finds a way to escape and releases all the others. Once out, he meets this girl, Olidia, that was also in the centre and they become good friends. I have no clue if things in the story relating to juvenile delinquent centres is true, but I'm basing most of that from what I read in Boot Camp by Todd Strasser.
