Shade River is a quiet and soft-spoken Umbreon who never expected anything special to happen in his life, until one ordinary day when he meets two Pokémon, Eve, an Espeon, and Starlight, a Sylveon, who slowly become his closest friends and eventually develop feelings for him, while Shade remains completely unaware that what started as a simple friendship is slowly becoming something much deeper.

A eevee and umbreon try to start a new life in plasma town after an incident 5 years prior that left them without parents. And the eevee (Milo) makes friends with his classmates and sunshine and axel. While the umbreon (Zack) tries to find stable employment that isn't either being a rescuer or an explorer. But their past catches up with them and a mayor candidate is trying to get eeveelutions and eevees banished from plasma town if he is elected.

Whatever Dare or Asha tells you, humans are not evil! Some Pokemon seriously like Pokeballs and trainers. I do! So does Dare, now that I think about it. But Asha hates them with all her heart. And it's really starting to get on my nerves. Okay, so maybe the bad guy here is a human, but so what? She just happens to be a human! I'm sure there's a Pokemon out there that's as bad as her! Well, no. I really don't think anyone could be as bad as her. And, you know, this journey wouldn't be so difficult if she didn't send Zekrom after us. He could jump out at any moment to kidnap us. Even with my Inner Eye and Asha's aura sense, we can never be completely sure where he is. But the worst thing that's happened so far is our friendships. Asha doesn't trust any of us except for Dare. Gardevoir, the Pokemon I've barely known for a week, seems to be a better friend than Dare's ever been. Sapphire is suddenly snappy at everyone, even Shadow. And Julie kind of makes us all uncomfortable. I'm Aurora. And I'm suddenly starting to think that there's no trust around here.
