Following on from the story, The Bitten Submarine, this is a story of the most unusual friendship, which thrives and endures despite vast cultural differences, racism, political tensions and open hostility to anyone seen as 'other'. The Bitten Submarine (https://www.wattpad.com/story/405344145-37-the-bitten-submarine) needs to be read first or the tensions and experiences of the two friends featured in the story won't make any sense at all.
Be warned, the author was in tears writing parts of this story, and certain sections still make him cry. It has a moment of absolute heartbreak, so keep some tissues handy.
This story contains fantasy-fiction parallels to racism.
