Welcome to Iwatobi High School! Kaoru Hisashi, a 15 year-old 3rd year in high school, has come back to Japan after her family left for Hawaii. She has returned alone, and only her best friend Chihiro Miki knows the reason why. Even though she has been gone for more than 6 years, she still remembers the faces of a few of her best friends who swam with her at the Iwatobi Swimming Club. And also the face of a person who was... Not so friendly to her. Coming back to school within 24 hours that you stepped out of the airport isn't very easy. With no place to actually stay for a while, she finds herself working and sleeping at the new Swimming Club that her old coach remade. Now if she could find a way to keep ChiChi(Chihiro) from worrying about her, her current life would be almost perfect. Chihiro Miki is Kaoru's best friend, and has been ever since Kaoru's family had moved next door when they were 6 years old. When Kaoru and her family left when they were 9, She and Kaoru made a promise that no matter how far away they were, they would always be best friends. Forever. They always wrote letters to each other. But one day 4 years ago, they stopped coming. After 2 years of no letters, they started up again. Less frequent, but at least they were coming. And then the week before school started, she was told the reason why. She always enjoyed watching Kaoru swim, especially when she would race against Haruka. They were both so great in the water... Now that Kaoru is coming back, she's afraid that what happened over the years will hurt her incredible abilities.

Makoto has fallen in love with Sousuke and vice versa, but they don't know that the other shares the same feelings. NOTE: I am currently in the process of rewriting this story since I wrote this years ago and the writing is a bit cringey or whatever. The updated version is being posted on my Fanfiction.net account (same title & same username) but I'll eventually put the updated chapters here too.
