Syn is a soldier of the UEPM, the United European People's Militia, stationed in the city of Piora. Her job is to keep the pickers, henchmen of the PICC - Paragon Industrial Cybernetics Corporation - from overrunning the city. Thanks to her past as a genetically modified Spartan soldier, it is a job she does well. Things start to get complicated when Danger, a freelancer and fellow ex-Spartan, decides out of the blue to not kill Syn. A tentative friendship blossoms and threatens to shake the already fragile relationships Syn possesses. It's not too long before Syn discovers the true cost of trust in a life like hers. ~~~~~~~~~ Author Note: This is a borderline fanfic/original fic. As in I use names from Halo (yes Spartan you read that right) and electronic dance musicians as characters, but the characters are all OOC to the point where they are basically OCs. Obviously, I do not own the Halo universe or Danger, Daze, Gesaffelstein or any of the other EDM people. They own themselves, hopefully. Jude is low on his doses: perhaps that is why he does not see the perfection of the New Society they have created. But perhaps he is low on his doses because the perfection they had promised, came at the expense of his brother's life. Or perhaps, he is low on his doses because his parents have both just been "diagnosed," and they are still plenty young and healthy. In any case, his window to save them is rapidly disappearing.
