Evangelina has always loved to sing and dance. She wants to do it for a living, but her parents think otherwise. They want for their daughter to grow up and get a job teaching. They send her to go to her school's tutoring club, which they think will be a great experience for her to learn teaching material. Little do they know she hasn't tutored once.

Evangeline May has run out of luck. Her parents split has resulted in her mother stealing them away to a town, far from home, where no one can find them, and her new school brings bullies in the form of a pestering guy and his jealous ex. To escape it all one day she rushes off into the forests that surround the town. She doesn't know the woods are forbidden to all but the most experienced hunters. She doesn't know the danger that awaits.
