I wrote this story with elements borrowed from Edgar Alan Poe's writing style, for school. This short story was written at a very low point in my life but I hope that some part of it resonates with you or leaves you puzzled. Keep in mind that despite its dark theme, this story was written with hope in mind, which plays a very important role in the life of our protagonist.

A short, twisted tale that I got a bit carried away with: This story takes place on Brunswick St. , Louisville. A mad scientist who lives underneath an insane asylum ( which is really not an insane asylum at all, but a place to test his scientific endeavors on innocent people without raising suspicion ) plots to use his "vaccines" to drive everyone insane. Things take a different turn when he discovers Violet, an orphan girl who, along with her best friend, Tom, is determined to protect the orphanage. Finished, but will continue to add edits as I see fit- critiquing is encouraged!
