Alexander lived in poverty and was lost in the forest. He was going to die until Thomas, a kind prince came and helped him and found him a place to stay. He was now living very happily for years. Until that night, in a masquerade ball a bomb attack happened. The palace was completely destroyed and Alexander's loved ones died. He thought he was going to live his whole life trying to pay off the debt with Tommy, Thomas' cousin. Until a mysterious man came and gave him a dangerous offer that would change his life.. and also end his life.

It is 2143. Planet Earth was destroyed 131 years ago and now any inhabitants of Planet Earth are living on Mars. All inhabitants of Earth were relocated unless they didn't want to move. If they made the choice to stay behind, they were instantly killed when Earth blew up. During these 131 years since humans were relocated, the government and scientists have figured out how to continue human life on Mars. Because of this, every person is required to have a surgery on their fifteenth birthday, to make them more like an adult. This will change their looks slightly, and alter their brain chemistry. Everyone has the surgery, even if they disagree secretly and even if they don't want to. And before, Echo Hilton, no one has ever challenged it. And soon, life on Mars is about to change.

Alice Eavenhart is daughter to a government official and read the secret documents as well as listened to confidential meetings. Aware of this knowledge the Dictator orders her father to execute her in the back rooms. Though her loving father plans something else. Will she die or will the people rejoice with « Alice is Alive »
