Set in Hamilton, ON in 1963 during a June heatwave, expectant new parents-to-be Pat and Mary Nolan are going stir-crazy in the heat - and the baby is already a week late arriving! They and their friends Jake and Susan Goldstein get more than they bargained for when they decide to go see a double feature at the local drive-in.

Judie is a sporty girl who looks spunky on the outside because of her excellent skills in playing dodge ball. But in truth, she still have a soft spot and has a secret crush on rival dodge ball team member, Alexis. One day, they talk, then she's at his house the next. And things got a little too fast when she found out herself too intimate with him....and it came with a little extra. There is friction between her and Kayden, as they are not a couple, and trying to get through pregnancy and parenting without much outside support. Will Amber be able to manage all the negative attention and still manage to please her parents, maintain her relationship with Kayden AND go through pregnancy and child rearing? Or will it just be too much for a teenager to take?
