“Here’s the thing about first loves. You always think they’re good enough. Like you’d be perfectly content with just them. This may be the case with me; the only problem is im always too late. The one last in line that gets the left over love. And they still have his heart. Fully intact sitting on a shelf for when they want him. To me this is selfish and so ridiculous, but I sit back and watch because there’s not much a girl can do when she’s only given a small slice of a broken heart.” I searched for something in his eyes that indicated the slightest bit of feelings toward me. “Oh.” That was all he said. “ And there you go again! The one syllable!” I began to walk away for the last time, I was so sick of hearing the same things over again. Here I was confessing everything I’ve ever felt and all he can muster up is ‘oh’. I felt my waist being grabbed and soon I was turned around facing those light blue eyes. I felt my stomach lurch as we just stood there and looked at each other. For once I was comfortable with someone searching my face with their eyes. It felt right and I was sad when the moment ended. It did though, because in my short but eventful time on this planet the one thing I have found that lasts is ending. That everything ends and an end is the only thing you can rely on to be constant.
