This story is not about Cinderella. It's about her ugly stepsister, Thisbe, who also conquered the odds and danced at the ball. A fugitive smuggler with an unusual gift and a complicated history tries to save her drought-cursed land in a gods forsaken world. A bastard prince of the Fae tries to win his father's approval by putting down the human rebels menacing Fae lords. (Warning: I write when I can).

She's a girl thrown into unfortunate circumstances because of her father's fib, and he's been searching for someone to assist after being turned away for years. Their meeting brings magic into both of their lives.

Legends, folktales, and bedtime stories all spoke of creatures called Fae. But no one thought they were real - until the Fae invaded. Now it is up to a rag-tag group of teenage survivors to save the town of Hawthorne: Miranda, chronicler of the Fae invasion, who is hiding a dark secret... The story is intended to be a multi-platform franchise that will include a webseries (in pre-production), and eventually graphic novels/videogames.

The tales of fairies are well over told to little girls who believe in sparkles and hats made of flower petals. But nobody ever tells the truth. The truth is that we are indeed faeries, the Fae, if you will, and we do not dwell over glitter and tea parties. We are diplomats, we are rulers, and we are common folk. We have hierarchy, and we have wars. We are not all sunshine and happiness because we are in the middle of a dark age. We are the Fae, and we are not like you. We are the Fae, and we are better than you. We are the Fae, and we are here to prove that we are no fairy tale, but something far superior. Because we are the Fae, and we are something so otherworldly, that this piece of truth will be filed under the category of fiction for some bored child to find and read. But please know, dear child, that this is no lie. Which brings me to my first point: the Fae cannot lie. Or that's how it used to be, anyway.

The Mermaid's Touch is a flash fiction story, first created for an international anthology: "Teapot Tales: Vol 2 - Pirates, Mermaids and Monsters of the Sea". Stories were to be between 300 - 800 words. For the anthology there were 2 parts to the story. I have always planned to write a third part, and expand on the story at some stage.

Not to mention that Jem and Jessamine have found something to tether them to at time that is not their own.
