When Rosaline's parents divorce, she's forced to stay with her mother in San Diego for a year until they can settle things out. When she gets enrolled into a mysterious boarding school, Rosaline feels psyched to start a new life. But soon enough she realizes that Falica Falls is far from a happy place.
