Everything was perfectly fine. Encre met with Fallacy every night at their favorite place in the forest, and they talked about their lives... That was until one night, after Encre had gotten home and Fallacy had returned to his castle, he had been attacked by hunters. He knew it was no longer safe to stay there, for him and his family. But taking Jasper with him, risked him a lot more than most of the Vampire children, so he left Jasper in front of Encre's door. After finding himself in the forest as a result of running from an arranged marriage, Encre finds a castle. In need of shelter he goes to it. He meets many strange characters and animals along the way. After a time he finds himself in love with the man that owns and lives in the castle, the vampire king. What will happen?

Encre was just walking home after once again being forced to paint painting for the pesky nobles. However a storm hits leaving the artist in the so called "Forbidden Forest." What he didn't know, or rather chose not to believe, was finding the feared creatures and murderer of France.

Encre is an artist and we could say that he is rather special. His actions don't give away who he is nor his thoughts. Fallacy is the Vampire King, he just wants the vampire hunters to stop the chasing of his kind. Their destinies converge at one point, maybe they can ease the pain one another feels. Encre a painter had lived in a little village for a long time there is a war going on between monsters/humans and vampires after Encres brother get drafted for the war. After a while of serving the army he dies and now Encre has to take his place. When looking around in the village with Eterna they find a little bat Eterna wants to kill it but Encre refuses. Then runs away with it into the forest figuring out it was the prince of vampires?! What has Encre got himself into now...

In a small and isolated village, which is next to a special forest, the citizens are less and less numerous. Why? One word! ~Vampires~ At the bottom of the forest, the King of Vampires, Fallacy. He lives in a dark castle. A castle, none citizens could approach it, at least... if they wanted to stay alive. A war began between the Citizens and Vampires since decades even centuries so how Encre could forget it? Why he doesn't remember anything? What he forgot exactly? You will have lot of others questions!
