🏆 The original Greek, unillustrated version of this story, "Αστερομαζεύοντας Τυχογυρεύοντας," was awarded Second Prize in the Kefalos Literary Competition and published in Christmas Anthology, Vol. 3 by Kefalos Publications (ISBN 978-618-5854-64-5). In the valley of Moon City, where a magnificent palace rose above a town once filled with laughter, Christmas brought with it the most magical night of the year: the Festival of Falling Stars. Beneath the moonlit sky, the royal family and the people of Moon City stood perfectly still in the palace courtyard, delicate porcelain teacups held in their hands. Among them were the King's two beautiful daughters, who, though twins, were different in every way. Everyone waited for the stars to fall, hoping to catch as many as they could in their cups and gather enough good fortune to last until the following Christmas. But that night, one deceitful woman ruined everything. What followed was far darker than anyone could have imagined. The beloved Queen soon lost her life, and a strange veil of sorrow, misery, and misfortune descended upon Moon City. Quarrels broke out everywhere. Anger passed from one person to another like a terrible sickness, until no corner of the kingdom seemed untouched. Inside the palace, the hot-tempered, hard-to-please Belladonna constantly clashed with her gentle, endlessly patient twin sister, Pasiflora. Beyond the palace gates, young and old alike argued and grumbled, as though the whole town had fallen under an invisible spell. Something had to be done. The terrible spell of misfortune had to be broken. Somehow, Moon City had to find its happiness again. Charlotte "Lottie" Wilkins had just gotten her life back on track. After running away from her old life a couple of weeks shy of her sixteenth birthday and landing into the life of Nora Wilkins, a kind old diner owner who took her in, she's lived happier than she ever thought possible for the last two years. It was all perfect until one cold, rainy November night when that all changed. Baxxyhm Wurr didn't know what had gone wrong but something had and now he's stuck on Earth until he can fix it. A young map maker for his planet Galysia, he'd taken his ship out further than any explorer to chart new stars and impress his master and king. When his ship enacts an emergency protocol and falls rather than lands on the closest habitable planet, he isn't sure what to expect. Hoping that he can get his mission back on track quickly, he is thrown for a loop by meeting Lottie.

What happens when you wish on a falling star? Why, an agent gets assigned to your case, obviously. Tracee Dixon has made her wish. Disclaimer: Okay, I just wanted to say that I totally found the idea for this on a repost of a Tumblr post on Instagram. I did not come up with this idea, but I did come up with the characters and storyline and everything else. Only the agent thingy is from Tumblr.

January 2020 SciFi Challenge. It fell from the sky. The townspeople headed out to the hills to see what the strange falling star was. What they found was totally unexpected.

fell in love ...

Born to die, is a little to harsh, but its true. Born to hurt, is a little to mean, even for the gods, but its still true. Just born to be born, is not right, but that's what she's for. She's can't have her mate till she's sure its over. But if she finds her mate before than she's going to die. This only happens a few hundred years and she happens to be the one to suffer. Can she prove to the gods that she's good enough or will she die like the rest. I guess you'll just have to read it.

Tired of their own battles, two people looked at the night sky to find escape. Though on different sides of the world, they faced the same star who fell. Fluttering their eyes close, they wished for a little happiness but ended up exchanging bodies with each other. Would a falling star help them be a little happier? one shot || cloudedblush
