As part of the latin community let me just say that I loved the movie. I have watched it like 10 times and was inspired. This story takes place at the ending of the movie. Right in the middle of the party when casita was rebuilt. A/N: There's gonna be mention of lgbtq for some characters. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Even with help of a song about her unspeakable uncle who's missing, Mirabel with help of her cousin Camilo, finds herself with a curious name: "Marulanda Salazar". Who is she? And most importantly... What does she have to do with her Tio Bruno? An Encanto AU that changes several actions during the movie, and brings more characters and events to make Mirabel's job easier. A girl from the city travels with her family to her father's native town, Encanto. There she discovers something she believed impossible, magic is real. Curiosity will lead her to spend her time in Encanto trying to discover how it works.

Not even gonna lie this is just something I'm making up as I'm going. Just practice for writing my own story one day. Your characters' name is Sophia Valeria Alvarez. This is to make it easier for me, and so the story moves smoother. I can't be the only one who reads Y/N instead of reading it as my name. To me it sounds weird. If you would prefer using your own name or a made up one, go right on ahead. Like I said, the name I input was just to make it smoother as the author. But you can change it, along with any other details I might write about your character, although I'll try my best to keep your details as vague and broad as possible so you have that freedom. A few details that will be specifically mentioned are: ~ Your character will have green eyes. ~ I may at times describe I slightly thinner but curvy build, but trust me I'm going to try to keep it as broad as I can so it can be more inclusive. ~ I may describe longer hair, but this detail I would suggest keeping because your hair will be one viable part of the story. If you don't want to, again go ahead. I'm writing your story, but you can choose your looks. ~ Going along with that, I will probably describe curly hair as well. It's one of the many types of hair in Columbia, and I thought for some specific parts in would match up more. Feel free to think of it differently though! ~ there may be some parts that might include topics that are little more sensitive. I will put trigger warnings as the first line just in case anyone gets set off by it. Maybe it's different when it's written but it's better to be safe than sorry. This is a story of a girl looking for a home after she lost her home and family. When stumbling through the forest she finds a village, an Encanto. A villager helps her find her way to the Madrigal family home asking for help. Will they welcome her with open arms? ------------------------------ Will they accept her? Will they help her? Whats gonna happen? Who will help during that time? This is for people who simp for fictional characters 😁

I had the idea for this fic a long time ago, when Camilo's spanish VA covered "Waiting on a Miracle" on Tik Tok. After that, several ideas came up on Tumblr, Tik Tok and even Twitter, of what an AU would be like where Mirabel had gotten a gift and Camilo was the "giftless one". I got my own too. And after thinking about it a lot, I said, why not? I think is cool all the possibilities that could be presented and I adore the idea of Mirabel being Camilo's emotional support through all of this. - To clarify, this is a rewrite of the movie but with Mirabel having a gift and Camilo not. That's why some parts and phrases will sound like in the movie. - I try to make all the characters as they are, but it's difficult for me. So if I'm wrong or I made out of character moments, I apologize. - I have made the characters warmer than in the movie. Because after all, they are family, and Mirabel will do anything to be close to those she cares about. - English is not my first language, so I apologize if something is wrong. - Chapters are long. Like, really long.
