Charlotte Winston has always felt alone. Ever since she was a little girl she knew that her parents had wanted her to be a son, and she wasn't enough for them. She spends most of her time in the woods out back behind her house, reading and dreaming the day away. Until one day she sees something. A dark silhouette peering at her from behind the trees. He is a small pointy-eared fairy by the name of Lou, and he has been watching Charlotte in her loneliness trying to get up the nerve to speak to her. Soon Charlotte is happier than she could've imagined with her new found friend and confidence. But what happens when a fairy starts to have feelings for a human?
