A novella I had to write in school, thought i'd post it here

Thousands upon thousands of years ago, there was a village, a town as some might call it. This village was said to be on the edge of the world. The locals of this village called this "World barrier." The world's barrier harnessed a power so great that one person could not hold the power themselves. After years of war and ruling for power many different gods became. These gods ruled over and took power from the biomes of the world. More gods alrose from the shadows in search for power, wealth, fame. But most in search for the barrier's power failed, most never even returned to tell their stories. But the ones who did return, didn't come back the same. And after many failed explorers went on search for this power didn't come back, this power was lost in history's hands. And for the gods who still exist, rule their biomes, some start wars trying to gain power. But others live in the shadows, never to be seen by humans. In some tales you hear of happy endings, the heroes finding true love, the shadows and monsters being defeated, but in this story, it is the shadows that rise instead of heroes.

In this magical yet dark world, tragic tales end with "Curses" which gives it user extraordinary powers yet dire curses. Emme was unaware of her Curse until it was too late, born with the "Magnolia Curse" anyone who hurts her will get punished, the more pain they caused the more they suffer. Emme had recently gotten her heart severely broken and accidentally killed someone she loved. Her best friend Julie had intervened and surprised Emme with her knowledge of the "Cursed Ones" revealing she was exactly like her. She took Emme away to a school where it taught Cursed Ones how to control their curses and powers to use for the greater good. There Emme meets people all with different stories and curses. But there is a bigger Curse set over the entire world involving Emme and her friends..will the world fall to flames as predicted?

People had thought the magic world was banished from interacting with humanity. The world filled with mystery and fascinating things has made its return. Two young girls decide to investigate a nearby forest with supposed sightings of magical people. However what they discover seems to shock them.
