Demons stood in the corners silent, robed, faces hidden their whispers forming a chant that did not belong to the living. At the center of it all stood that man? I don't even know what to call him a man? A demon? An entity?. The torches burned black. His wings vast, terrible, divine arched high, trembling as though resisting his own command. His skin bore markings that pulsed with faint red light, as if the runes themselves were feeding on him. The Priest stepped forward, carrying a vessel carved from obsidian and bone. "The king's blood will awaken the bond," he said, his voice hollow. "It will seal her soul beneath his shadow." His gaze flickered toward me distant yet heavy with something unspoken. Then he nodded.
