Farawaykingdom Stories

A servant's daughter befriends the prince and finds an unlikely friendship. One that would be greatly scrutinized. Pushed and pulled, the prince has to choose the future of the kingdom he is being raised to rule? One that has its place for servants, and those of the upper class. But two shall never mix. Or follow his heart? That tells him he sees more in her than just a servant? As they grow up, the once innocent hearts that believed all were equal, quickly learn that there is a rift between servant and prince. And to cross onto the other side would mean losing everything. Will love and friendship be enough to surrender everything?

I don't often write stories, but when I read about the story competition Dutch Comic Con had organised I decided to give it a try. They chose "Royalty" as their theme, and I wrote this short story with that in mind. This is a fairy tale like story featuring ravens and the peculiar myth that surrounds them in this fantasy world. "Retelling" of sorts of Cinderella. Lily never asked to be a thief, but it was the only way she could keep a roof over her head, along with her step mother and her three step sisters. One day, she goes all in and steals from the royal carriage but catches the eye of the prince, with her blonde hair and black attire.
